Association-Sponsored Trash Service:  The Association sponsors trash service for subdivisions successfully completing the trash petition/ballot process.  To view the list of streets/subdivisions that participate in Association-sponsored trash, as well as the trash collection and recycle days for these subdivisions, click on the following link:  Trash Service Contract Schedule - FY10 & FY11.

LRPRA currently has 38 subdivisions and over 3469 homes participating in Association-sponsored trash service.  If your subdivision does not have Association-sponsored trash service, you will need to contact a local vendor to procure trash service for your property. Beginning September 1, 2004, Association-sponsored trash service will offer bulk pickup.  You MUST call and give 24 hours notice in advance to the service provider, Charlie and Sons at 703.670.9652 to schedule bulk pickup PRIOR TO placing items on the curb for pickup.  See Charlie and Son Rules and Regulations for Association-Sponsored Trash Service. 

Holidays/Closings for Charlie and Son Trash Service:  Charlie and Son Trash Service will be closed for four holidays a year as follows: Independence Day (July 4), Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. Trash pickup, as well as recycle pickup, will be made on the next scheduled trash collection day after the holiday.

Trash Petition/Ballot Process:  A homeowner wishing to obtain Association-sponsored trash service for his/her subdivision should contact the Association office at 703.491.2154 ext. 102 in January.  Each March, the Association sends trash petition ballots to select subdivisions based on homeowner and covenants staff input.  When a simple majority (50% plus 1) of ballots are returned from subdivision owners voting in favor of Association-sponsored trash service, the subdivision's request for Association-sponsored trash service will be forwarded to the Board of Directors for approval.  (Association-sponsored trash petition ballot results - Spring 2009). Once approved, the cost for Association trash service is billed with the annual Association assessment with service commencing September 1st, which is the begining of the next fiscal year.
