Coaching

Our youth leagues run on volunteer coaches! Here are a few of the benefits of volunteering with us:

  • Receive a $25 discount on your child’s league fee
  • Give us your shirt size & receive a Coach’s jersey
  • Experience reward - Check out this article about a parent’s great experiences from making the choice to coach kids sports

During registration, select the Coach activity for the specific age group(s) you would like to volunteer for. You will receive a $25 discount per team. You must be open to scheduling and must coordinate your own replacement if there is a game you will not be present for. The schedule will be emailed by the end of March.

Attend the Coach’s Meeting at the beginning of April, where you will be given a run-down of rules and general information for the season, have the opportunity to meet co-coaches, and pick up jerseys and a few coaching resources if needed. You will receive a roster of the team and be their main point of contact.

Equipment

You will need to bring your own glove. Cleats optional, but recommended to prevent slipping (no metal spikes).

Bats, balls, and helmets are provided for use in play. First Aid supplies are kept in the field storage bin located on site for athletes to use when needed.

Location

Schedule

Spring 2023 season runs April 16 - June 18.

Practices and games take place on Sundays onlyThe season runs from mid April to mid June for 9 weeks total-- the first 3 Sundays are practices and the following 6 Sundays are games.

The youngest age group (T-Ball) plays first each week starting at 12:00pm, followed by the older age groups (Coach Pitch). Each game is 50 minutes long, with a 10-minute buffer between games for the previous 2 teams to clear out and the next 2 teams to set up. A detailed schedule for your team's specific practice and game times will be created and emailed out to parents at least 2 weeks before the start of the season.

Rain Out Information

Rain-Out Line: (703) 497-7133

Since the weather is always changing, the Rain-Out Line is your best tool to check cancellation status. It will be updated at 11:15am before practices/games start for the day if there are any changes. Please listen to the date of the message to ensure it is not an old recording, and save the number in your phone to reference for both swim lessons and youth leagues.

With safety, fairness and field preservation as our priorities, we do our best to follow the same schedule for the day for all teams, but if morning practices/games run and weather worsens significantly later in the day, check the Rain-Out Line 45 minutes before your practice/game to ensure it is still running.

While rained out practices are not made up, rained out games will be added on at the end of the season. The Rain-Out Line will reflect updated make-up information as needed.
