The Facilities Department is responsible for the Association-owned common area and facilities. It has a wide range of responsibilities and duties that include community center and pool maintenance, mowing, landscaping, upkeep of the Fantasy Playground and tot lots spread throughout the community and more. They keep our community looking beautiful.

In order to keeping the 250+ acres of common area turf and VDOT right of ways throughout the community well groomed, the Association makes every effort to have all of the it’s common ground grass cut every 2 weeks. Cycle times are affected by turf growing speed and seasonal weather conditions. This is a seasonal operation starting in April and running through October. If you see Facilities crews out mowing along the roadways, please use caution.


Facilities plants seasonal flowers throughout the area in the summer and fall. They also keep the trees and beds mulched and weed free, prune and trim bushes and trees, and plant the next generation of trees and saplings throughout the area.

*Every year LRA hires a contractor to treat our common areas to prevent seasonal weeds and other undesirable grasses. Please be aware of the contractors and avoid the area when they are present.  

Erosion Control

In order to keep our natural topography flowing, Facilities repairs turf areas that have been washed out by heavy rains.

Tree Work

Tree work includes the felling of dead, dying, or diseased trees within the common grounds. Facilities also trims and prunes the ever-growing natural environment within Lake Ridge. If you need to report a hazardous tree located on the common ground, report a concern.

Leaf Removal

Leaf pick up on Association-owned turfed common areas is done from October to mid-March (weather and conditions permitting). We ask that Homeowners bag leaves from their yards and dispose of them through the trash service. There is an 8 bag limit for leaf pickup, limited to your yard waste day (your last trash pickup day of the week). Please do not dump or blow your leaves into the common area. 

Fantasy Playground & Tot Lot Maintenance

The Association has numerous tot lots located throughout the community. The Fantasy Playground is closed for a week in September for annual maintenance. If you notice any damaged equipment, report a concern.
