Decorate Your Home for the Neighborhood Lights Contest
Nominations: November 1 - December 16 (9am) | Voting: December 16 - 21 (12pm)
It's time to get into the holiday spirit in your neighborhood! Decorate your house exterior and yard in the most festive and creative manner to win a fun little prize delivered to your door. Then nominate your home or your favorite neighborhood home by submitting a photo with the address to recreation@lakeridgeva.com!
Nominations will be accepted until December 16 (9:00am), and photos of those in the running will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram page by noon to begin sharing for "likes" as votes! Voting will be open through December 21 (12:00pm), and winners will be announced on social media by the end of the day!
Gift Your Loved Ones a Letter from Santa
November 1 - December 9 | Submit a Request
Send a personalized letter from Santa to the special people in your life! This becomes a magical tradition to keep up each year as parents, grandparents and friends get to see the surprised faces of those hearing directly from Santa who knows them so well. Submit your request (1 per child) with personal details in November for the early price of $7 per letter.
To Register: Submit the Letters from Santa Registration Form to recreation@lakeridgeva.com and call (703) 491-2154 to make payment, or drop off a check in the Association Office drop box. Submit by December 9 to ensure delivery by December 25.
A Few Spots Left for Family Visit with the Clauses

Grab the family a time slot (pre-registration required) for a little quality time with Santa & Mrs. Claus on December 3! The Clauses will answer all those burning questions about the North Pole, listen to your wish lists and take some fun photos together. B.Y.O. camera to capture those shots! Personalized goodie bags will also be included and gifted from the Clauses. Sign up in November for the early price of $10 per child. Limited time slots will fill soon!
Winter Donation Initiatives
Toys for Tots Drop-off Ends: December 16 | Warm Donation Drop-off Ends: January 31
It is such a joy to see you, the Lake Ridge community, overflow our lobby each year with toys and warm donations for those in need! New, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program will be accepted until December 16 and hats, scarves and gloves for the Hilda Barg Homeless Prevention Shelter until January 31. All donations can be dropped off in the LRPRA Office lobby between 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Preschool Snapshot: Pumpkin Pie Day
Our Lake Ridge Creative Preschool students are heading into the holidays with some cooking skills under their belts! On Monday, our little bakers celebrated Thanksgiving at our Tall Oaks Community Center with its spacious kitchen. They were able to incorporate a little Math and Science into their day by making pumpkin pies. This is always a fun day for the children as the get to taste something they help make!
