Accepting Warm Donations for Homeless Prevention Center
Warm Donation Drop-off Ends: January 31
It is such a joy to see you, the Lake Ridge community, overflow our lobby each year with warm donations for those in need! Hats, scarves and gloves for the Hilda M. Barg Homeless Prevention Shelter will be accepted until January 31. All donations can be dropped off in the LRPRA Office lobby between 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Hilda Barg Homeless Prevention Shelter is Prince William County's first homeless shelter for families, providing easier access to social services for people in need. It has been a trusted shelter in the northern Virginia community for many years, with the goal of equipping families with the tools and resources they need to obtain and sustain permanent housing. A case manager assists residents in developing an individualized plan to promote self-sufficient living, with a few of the services provided including mental health evaluation and counseling, drug and alcohol abuse prevention services, children's services, budget training, adult education, and employment services. Your donations are greatly appreciated in providing basic needs for these families this winter!

Preschool Snapshot: Winter Weather Policy
As we approach snowy season, you may wonder how the Preschool communicates our winter weather delays and closures. If the weather is bad enough to make traveling dangerous, parents will receive email announcements from the Preschool Director regarding delays, full-day closures or early dismissals. Parents should be sure to have emergency contacts up-to-date in case we are unable to reach you in the event of an early dismissal. Find more information on the Our Policies page of the website.
